Getting new computing hardware for your business?

Don't throw the old stuff away!

Here at One Cool, we believe in karma: what goes around, comes around.

We are currently piloting a project to reincarnate business IT hardware for its second life, serving good causes.  There's nothing more to it than this.

How you can help

You can donate redundant hardware to a good cause in one of two ways.  Either:

  1. Keep hold of it but let us know you have some available;
  2. After approval from us, send or drop off the hardware at our office.

If you are donating anything that contained data, this will be securely erased using the US Government-approved, 7-wipe method.

What this isn't

This isn't an attempt by us to get free computers! This is an honest attempt to give something back to the hundreds of organisations that provide their time and resources freely for society's benefit.  The more help they receive, in whatever way possible, the more effective they can be.

This isn't a service to help you help the causes you believe in.  We are cause-agnostic.  Therefore we don't accept requests to "preferably give X hardware to charities of type  Y". Sorry.

By donating hardware, you seek to indemnify One Cool of all liability arising out of the use of this kit.  It is donated and accepted in good faith by all parties.  Each party's insurance should be checked to ensure injury, accidental damage and theft are covered.

What we'd appreciate

If you wish to donate hardware that requires some form of administration, e.g. a managed switch, router, and so on, please provide information on how that should be accessed.

We keep track of which charities are looking for what equipment.  If you would like to be informed where your contribution(s) ended up, please let me know from the outset.
