What exactly do you do?

We ask you what you are looking to gain from your new or redesigned website. We take any marketing material that you have (e.g. Stationery) and incorporate your theme into your site, to create a unified brand for your business. We also add creative flair, proofreading, suitable imagery, search engine optimisation and any other enhancements that you desire. In short, we provide the website you want.

What makes you better than another web designer?

The story doesn't end with your finished website - it is just at the beginning! Having a site on the web means nothing if it's not performing for you. Therefore, we monitor your site closely for the first 3 months from go-live. After 3 months have elapsed, we will send you a PDF report of the visitor trends your site has experienced, together with recommendations for how to improve on these statistics. Best of all, we will do all of this for FREE. ..And, not only all of this, but as we work closely with top designers, you can be sure of something that looks fantastic too!

How much does a website cost?

Low quality websites don't cost much. Our pricing reflects the quality of the website, yet is still very competitive. Please Contact us to discuss the site you require and we will provide you with a detailed quote.

I don't even have a logo! What next?

If you already have a designated visual designer we will happily work with them. We also provide logo design as a separate service, should you want this. Please enquire for more information.

What do I/we need to get started?

After an initial telephone discussion, we would need a design brief in your own words on what you want in, and to gain from, your website. If you are not sure what to include in your brief, we will send you a template to follow. When we have considered your requirements carefully, we will propose an action plan together with a quote. You can then make a decision about proceeding at this point.

How long does it take to build a website?

A template design can take as little as 1 day. If you require more services such as proofreading, image selection and manipulation (such as with photographs), registering your domain name(s), insertion of your copy, and any other creative tasks, this may take longer.

What is a domain name?

A domain name is the address you type in to access a website, such as www.onecool.com.

Can you provide a domain name for me?

Provided it is available to register and/or transfer to us, we can provide as many domains to you as you wish!

Do you provide web hosting?

Yes, we manage the provision of all our web hosting. If you have a site designed by One Cool, you are eligible for a significant discount for your first year's hosting with us. Enquire for more details!

I have used another web designer before and/or already have a website. Can I use One Cool instead now?

Certainly. It's a fact of life that quite a number of web designers exist and, in general, understand that working together makes life easier for everyone. We can also take on a site that you own but is "orphaned" (no longer maintained by a web designer).

Do you offer discounts?

Yes, we offer discounts to non-profit organizations, charities and even to individuals just starting out in business who need that "helping hand". Enquire for details.

How do I structure my website content?

The best way to structure your content is to decide what the primary function of your site is. Is it to make sales? Is it to provide general information? Is it a members-only website? Focus on your core offering and augment that with secondary functions of your site. It can often help to discuss your ideas - just the effort of vocalising them helps you decide their value. We are happy to consult with you regarding your website needs.

Can you update content on my behalf? Certainly. A single page update is charged at £25. We can provide further pricing on request.

Can I update my own website content?

Yes - we offer a content management system called Acumen. It allows you to structure your website, add keywords, text and graphics to each page and even comes with a mailing list manager!

Can I use a mailing list on my website?

In addition to our Mailing List manager on Acumen, we can also incorporate third-party mailing list systems, provided your web hosting is capable of running such a system. We can establish if this is possible for you and then provide you with further options.

Can I have a shopping cart on my website?

Absolutely. We can provide a system which interfaces to all major payment service providers and allows you to create a range of products or services.

Are there other enhancements I can have added to my website?

The sky is the limit! If you can think of it, we can add it. We always want you to benefit from what we provide you, so we will also act objectively as your sounding-board before we go ahead and build you a search engine to compete with Google! ;-)
